At “Skala city” climbing center one can climb on their own, in a climbing school group or with a personal coach. Do not forget to bring a spare pair of shoes to walk around between climbs (slippers will suffice) as the climbing shoes themselves are very tight.
To climb on your own you can either buy a one-time ticket or a club card for 10 visits.
- A one-time ticket costs 500 roubles (50 % discount for students from Monday till Thursday. Upon presentation of a valid student card).
- The club card for 10 visits costs 4 080 roubles and is valid within 37 day of the purchase date. The club card bears the name of its holder on it and cannot be given to another person or shared.
Once you enter the climbing gym we do not limit the time you stay, climbing is not the kind of sport where time frames can be set. The warming up alone can take up to 40 minutes.
Generally, 2 hours is enough to drain a climber, so almost no one wants to stay longer even if it is allowed.
Whether novice or professional, every climber has to know our safety measures and know how to belay a partner (hold the rope while your partner climbs), even if he came alone. Our friendly instructors ensure all visitors can belay. If you have never done it before, they will be glad to teach you free of charge.
2. Climbing with a coach
There are two options to choose from if you want to climb with a coach.
- A Trial Card is a short and low-budget way to try climbing. In brief, a Trial Card is three climbs with full equipment and an instructor, who belays and gives you some hints on what to grab and where to step, but doesn’t teach you in depth like they do during a personal lesson or in a climbing school.
The three climbs will take you 20-30 minutes; a good half of that time will be for recuperation
If after the three climbs have been accomplished you still want to go ahead, you can pay 50% of the entrance fee and keep climbing alone with the equipment you had for the Trial Card.
Adult Trial Card costs 700 roubles, Trial Card for kids under 12 costs 550 roubles.
Please note! Trial Card is extremely popular among young climbers, from 6 years old and up.
Our coaches enjoy working with children, they try to assist them in any possible way and make sure that every child makes it to the top.
But be aware, that the coach is not a nanny; he works with several climbers at a time and doesn’t mind children between the climbs, when they recoup.
When not climbing, children must be under their parents’ supervision!
- A personal lesson with a coach – is a lesson in its classic form, it implies methodical, regular learning. A personal lesson is mostly geared towards climbers, who want to start with acquiring correct technical climbing skills. One lesson will certainly not be enough, the number of lessons one will need to start climbing on his own is a very personal matter.
Every lesson is about 1 hour long and it costs 1250 roubles (entrance fee and equipment included).
Climbing shoes - 150 roub.
Harness - 150 roub.
Magnesium - 70 roub.
Carabines - 50 roub.
* Dynamic rope - 150 roub.
* Gri-gri - 50 roub.
* The last two items (dynamic rope and gri-gri) are only needed if you are going to use lead belay. For top-rope climbers gri-gri is provided free of charge on every rope.
Please notice that rented climbing shoes are given to a climber right before the climb and have to be returned to the coach as soon as the climber is back on the ground. It is not allowed to use climbing shoes for walking outdoors, to the café or elsewhere. To do that, you need to bring a spare pair of shoes (slippers will suffice). Should you have come with no spare shoes, we sell disposable slippers for 60 roubles.
4. Climbing school for adults and children.
You can climb in the climbing school group with a one-time ticket or with a club card. Climbing is taught in groups according to level. There is no fixed schedule; you can come whenever is convenient.
A one-time school lesson costs 1250 roubles and lasts about 2 hours. The one-time lesson is only meant as an introduction to climbing, if you want to climb in the school on a regular basis you will need a club card.
The club card costs 8 200 roubles, it is valid for one month and the number of visits is unlimited. The club card bears the name of its holder on it and cannot be given to another person or shared.
The club card’s validity can be paused in the following cases:
1. When the climbing school is away on a trip for more than one week.
2. Upon the holder’s request for 2 weeks maximum. Please be aware that the total halt term of a climber’s club cards cannot exceed 30 days in a year.
